Our First Spring Break Part 1

It may seem odd to many that this would be our first spring break considering we went to four years of college and two years of grad school. But such is the life of the BYU student who never gets a spring break. So we were determined to take advantage of at least one of the two spring breaks that we get in our seven year journey of med school...oh well c'est la vie.

Part of the reason we loved the idea of moving out in the east or Midwest. Was that there is so much more of the country to see that was a lot closer and not such a long drive away. An 8 hour drive here can put you at least through three different states and in major cities in almost any direction. So we went big or what I deemed as big. We picked Washington DC as our spring break destination. And while this may seem like an odd pick for a spring break, it meant that there would be no crowds and no lines for anything.

So this first post is mainly from my DSLR camera. I love my camera but with a very active almost two year old who does cute stuff for only a minute my nice camera doesn't always get there fast enough. Luckily, my phone has a nice camera and is more readily available so those pictures will be posted tomorrow while I still gather some from my husbands phone.

Also, you should know I have a slight obsession with beautiful architecture. I took two classes in college about architecture and interior design and I FELL IN LOVE HARD! I love old beautiful buildings and beautiful cathedrals. So there will be 90% beautiful architecture and 10% pictures of us. But next post will be mostly people so if that is what brings you here wait until tomorrow!
